Honey garlic shrimp glazed and plated

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds shrimp, peeled
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil or butter
  • Honey garlic glaze ingredients, as desired, including honey, garlic, and soy sauce
  • Green onion and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the coating. Mix the cornstarch with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dust the shrimp. Coat the shrimp with the cornstarch mixture and shake off any excess.
  3. Pan-fry. Heat the oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 1 to 2 minutes per side, then transfer out of the pan.
  4. Make the glaze. Add the glaze ingredients to the pan and let them simmer for about 30 seconds.
  5. Toss together. Return the shrimp to the pan and toss over high heat for 1 to 2 minutes, until glossy and coated.
  6. Serve. Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds, and serve with rice, noodles, or whatever sounds good.
